Anxiety is curable

There is great hope if you have Anxiety

Perhaps the use of the word curable is not the most accurate way to describe the thought of being free from anxiety.

Because of course if you have anxiety or suffer from stress or panic attacks you are not ill, you don’t need curing.

Am I going crazy?

Anxiety is a mental issue, not mental as in crazy, it is concerned with the way that you think about things. And the way that you think about things, affects the way you feel about things. And anxiety is a feeling.

Change your thoughts

By simply changing your thoughts you change your feelings, and it’s an almost instantaneous change.

For example, you can’t feel anxious if you are laughing at a joke, your thinking mode has changed and so has your mood. Now whether that mood lasts or how long it will last is once again dependant on your thoughts.

So the way that you think about things controls the way you feel.

You get what you think about

So if your thoughts control how you feel then surely to be free of anxiety all you need to do is not think anxious thoughts?

This is in many ways true, but not that easy to do, as I’m sure you have already found out.

Break the Anxiety Habit

Although anxiety and panic attacks are not strictly habits, we do get into habitual thinking patterns. And this where the changes can be made, by simply acquiring new and better ways of thinking.

Mindfullness

There are many ways to do this, the most popular at the moment is Mindfulness or being present. This has proved be a very effective way of controlling your thoughts and also learning how to banish the negative ones too. It does however take lots of time and practise to perfect it.

Hypnosis and Life Coaching

My favourite method of dealing with Anxiety is by using Mind coaching to help your mind learn new behaviours, new ways to think, once learned these positive thoughts become the norm.

And once that change has been made then Life Coaching can give you the tools you need so you can learn how to control stressful events in the future.
